Yes, --------, we have listened. However, it is not enough to listen: it is necessary to comment some words which certify that we have listened: The anger with your I engage it doesn't find the solution. In fact, we all are sick: some of illnesses with visible symptoms [as the ataxia], and others are sick of ideas [as your husband]. He possibly has a reaction of rejection toward your ataxia: as yesterday Karen commented of their family, and today LaVerne regarding their son. It is not possible to doubt of the existence of an ataxia because is not reflected in a MRI. For that same reason, all our life would be totally incredible. It is exactly same to believe and to demonstrate that you have an ataxia, as to believe and to demonstrate that our parents have really been our parents. And, however, nobody doubts of that topic of the responsibility of the paternity of our parents. And [completely rejectable], the contempt to the women could be a psychological pathology: depending of if it is always a behavior or it is recently an acquired behavior.

----------, you should not feel guilt for the attitude before your son's ataxia. That is a purely human attitude: It is rejection, or similar to the rejection. This happens with numerous frequency in the hereditary diseases of progressive type. I believe that this happens because the family is embarrassed of being transmitter of a hereditary disease. This is a problem of ignorance of a society [with big prejudices] that puts labels to the other ones without interest to have a previous knowledge.
In my case [like in almost all the cases of ataxians] my family transformed my disease in a secret until the symptoms were very evident. If somebody asked to my parents for my disease, the answer was: " - We don't know, the doctors don't understand it". Neither that attitude of our family harms us, because perhaps a mutual understanding exists, and we are also interested in trying to hide it. A hug for your son.

--------: I think that the attitude of accusing to the other ones is not exclusively characteristic of a relationship between ataxians and its family. It is a relationship generalized in the whole society, which arises in the moments of difficulties: It consists on being discharged of a possible responsibility loading the blame on the other ones. In the ataxia a concrete victim doesn't exist. The ataxia is supported by us, but the consequences of the ataxia are also suffered by our family. Friend, your problem is truly dramatic. In numerous occasions I wanted to have a small magic stick that solves everything. Here, it would be enough to have a checkbook of checks without end. But I don't have more than a "damned" FA. Of what nationality are you?. Sometimes I think, that we live in worlds full with ordinal numbers: first... second... third... When here, in INTERNAF, we discuss how to collect funds for the investigation about the ataxias, somebody reminds us that the ataxians also has numerous primary necessities to cover. I think that you have given us a lesson and, for a moment, you have made us look at other raw realities.
I don't know that work you can carry out. The survey of Wendy said that the FAers has carried out diverse studies and tasks. Although I think that depends on the age of beginning of the FA. In Spain I know to several ataxians that have never had opportunity to work and their assistance pensions are very low. Anyway, you should never try to save in damage of your feeding.

Dear ----------------: I know very little of computers. However, in two years in Internet, I have seen 6 similar virus threats. All were bitchy jokes which look for to create panic among the new users of Internet, and chains of messages in form of warning to the friends. As an idiot, Y also fell in that trap and I warned to my friends. Natalie, a hug.
