Friends, personal opinion: When [as me] we have already entered in a forum formed previously, we have the obligation of accepting the preset norms. However, here always we havesaid that we were a group... almost a family... and we are entitled to give an opinion. In theory, I should remain silent, and Y would be as a gentleman. In the practice, my facet of humanist comes out to the surface, or of revolutionary, or of priest's former-student, and I have the obligation for ethical reasons of speaking.
I don't agree with which it is prevented Patty to write poetry here. If Patty abandons for that reason, they cut us to all the possibility of writing. Those that plead for a pure forum of ataxia are not the fixed neither faithful to this forum, and they will leave for any pretext. Those that here participate writing in a permanent way we are 40 or 50. I came looking for information here, but I have stayed here because I am integrated in the group and my stay allows me to develop my personality. If I only look for information, I would subscribe INTERNAF-NEWS and it would not pass my life before the computer. But I am ataxian... and Y look for to develop my humanity: to listen... to speak... to be related with the other ones. Today I have laughed with the joke of Peter of the military General with a daffodil in the ass. If Peter is happy writing and adding to that history 80 imagination percent, and me, and other ataxians, we have sketched a smile... I believe that the objective is fulfilled: ¡THAT IS SUPPORT!.
I use software translator, and a joke is sometimes difficult to understand... a poetry is also sometimes difficult to understand with a translator... when I want I read this class of messages, when I don't have time, I erase them without reading... but I should not deny to anybody the development of its personality in an ataxian life so full with penalties as mine... I opt for the understanding. Neither I force to the other ones to read my messages. If somebody thinks this Spanish one crazy with their translator of stammering software what will say"... well, the one that thinks in that way has freedom to erase my messages. If to somebody it doesn't interest him Patty's beautiful world, he has freedom to erase Patty's messages... but that it allows Patty to be happy developing their poetic world. I think that this problem is very old in INTERNAF.Perhaps be the hour of auto-classifying our messages in sections.

Friends: ---------- is right. The copy & paste is a little a formula absurd: easy, but it doesn't favor anybody. If an ataxian bases a history in a joke but it puts the genius to narrate it, it is not the same thing that the copy & paste. If I find a news in a newspaper, or a poem in a book that I want to share with the other ones... if I narrate it to my way or I copy it manually, I will develop my personality there... but to copy & paste is a very poor resource.

Friends: - OK, ---------. Of course, here we are not to lean for a sector and to tie us to insults and slaps. Chris, Pam, and Mike are outside of any accusation. We try to help Chris, we are not trying to hinder the task of INTERNAF. Don't I know like this of those E-mails works, and don't I know what expense it generates in INTERNAF the shipment, but do I have the IMPRESSION ?...? of here arguments are used without solidity: "That pay for the incoming volume of messages in some European countries."
In Spain now is speaking of creating a plane rate [only, for all same] for the users of Internet. At the moment, that doesn't exist fortunately, in Spain. And I say fortunately because of settling down the unique rate, the small users [as me] we would leave harmed in the big users' benefit. Therefore, it would be certain that in Spain we pay for the incoming volume of messages. The approximate quota of connection is a dollar & hour. In one hour, a modem can bring such a quantity of messages that they could not be read during weeks. We would be speaking of quantities of ridiculous money. To reduce the volume of messages of INTERNAF in half, for me, it would not mean a superior saving to a monthly dollar [a coffee, or a package of tobacco]. If my monthly dollar makes me happy and he makes happy to other ataxians that have developed its imagination and improved its relationship... that dollar employee will be very well. And if somebody complains for their monthly dollar, he doesn't know what is an ataxia and to the solitude to which the ataxia can take.

Amigos: - De acuerdo, ------------.

Dear ---------------: Some parents try to protect in excess to their children. You and your wife have the responsibility of judging positive or negatively your daughter's communication with Maria Fernanda. I don't see any inconvenience except that she can find out things regarding the disease which you don't want to say her. Friends: Days ago, I received the visit of a friend whose mother had died recently. Remembering the mournful fact, we move away from the jokes and we enter in a serious philosophical debate. She left me manuscript the following thought to meditate whose author she didn't remember: """At the end of my life, I see that I have been the architect of my own happiness: If in my life I extracted bile, or honey, of the things, it is because in the things I put bile bitter, or sweet honey. When I have planted rosebushes, I have always gathered roses""".
As romantic and utopian person, I believe in the obligation of all human being of fighting to build a better world and I think that this thought is good to cheer up to try to look for a positive behavior. However, as ataxian, I put two humorous objections to the literal sense. 1 - If I am architect of my own life... I believe that I am a very bad architect to build such a ramshackle building :-) . 2 -I have to gather ataxia without never sowing ataxia! :-) . I don't know, I don't know, the life is too unjust..., or am I too sceptical? :-) .

Cuando he plantado rosales, siempre he recolectado rosas""".
:-) . 437- Subject: The tie, 27/8/1998.

Friends: I recognize to be enemy of the fashion and in favor of the comfort in dressing, although the comfort supposes informality. The tie is one of the garments of dressing that me more I hate. My attitude is a protest against the division of the world in social classes, and, also, it is a rebellion toward the fact of all they carry certain gear for fashion or for customs. I will refuse to put on a tie before the altar in my HYPOTHETICAL wedding :-) . Well, I will obey: in these matters the women always command ;-) . For what I have said here, this morning I have found in the newspaper a completely ridiculous news: """The tie of blue and yellow rhombuses, similar to the one that Mónica Lewinsky gift to Bill Clinton, put for sale by tailor Zegna, she has finished in the Italian boutiques. Now Italian and foreign tourists look for that tie pattern hopelessly. The company is studying the idea of manufacturing it again""". ¡The height of the ridicule!. Please, abstain you of giving me a tie of blue and yellow rhombuses :-D .

Friends INTERNAFers: The first week of this same year, the INTERNAFer Dario intended to carry out a web about ataxias in Spanish for Spain and Spanish America with some beautiful words of Ghandi: """That makes, it will be insignificant, but make it""". Dario added other words that fill the eyes of tears: """ When I began to think of making a page web, my dream was that if, thanks to her, I am able to help to some ataxian, I will be a happy man. I lived more than three years in a wheelchair before hearing the word ataxia for the first time. That I don't want it for anybody. Miguel A. Cibrian could also speak of years of ignorance and of pain""" .
Eight months have passed, Dario, Vicente, and me, we have worked difficultly. With special mention for Lola, Tomás, and other Spanish ataxians. Today we are proud of presenting our web in this forum. It is not a perfect page. We are not expert in web, and my translator's deficiencies, they are already known by all :-) . But we have grown as the foam [almost :-)]. Have we failed when wanting to obtain collaborations of Spanish Doctors [??????]. We attempt it this autumn again. Now we prepare sections for ataxians participation although they don't have Internet: album, autobiographies, literary creations, stories of experiences, humor, hobbies... Without forgetting the translations [and the headaches that the words that we don't find in the dictionaries cause us :-)].
If some of you wants to sign, a book of visits exists where we assist those that request help and information in the "comments":

XXXXXXXXXXXX wrote: KEEP ON SINGING.
Like any good mother, when Karen found out that another baby was on the way, she did what she could to help her 3-year-old son, Michael, prepare for a new sibling. They learned that the new baby was going to be a girl, and day after day, night after night, Michael sang to his unborn sister in his Mommy's tummy.
The pregnancy progressed normally for Karen. Then the labor pains came. Every five minutes - every minute. But complications arose during delivery. Hours of labor... Would a C-section be required?
Finally, Michael's little sister was born. But she was in serious condition....
With siren howling in the night, the ambulance rushed the infant to the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Mary's Hospital, Knoxville, Tennessee. The days inched by. The little girl got worse. The pediatric specialist told the parents, "There is very little hope. Be prepared for the worst.".
Karen and her husband contacted a local cemetery about a burial plot. They had fixed up a special room in their home for the new baby - but now they only planned a funeral. All the while, Michael kept begging his parents to let him see his sister, "I want to sing to her," he said.
Week two in int0ensive care: It looks as if a funeral will come before the week is over. Michael keeps nagging about singing to his sister, but kids are not allowed in Intensive Care. Still, Karen made up her mind. She decided to take Michael into the ICU whether the staff liked it or not! If he didn't see his sister then, he may never see her alive.
She dressed him in an oversized scrub suit and marched him into the ICU. He looked like a walking laundry basket, but the head nurse recognized him as a child and bellowed, "Get that kid out of here now! No children are allowed." The motherly instinct rose up strong in Karen, and the usually mild-mannered lady glared with steel eyes at the head nurse's eyes, her lips showing a firm line. "He is not leaving until he sings to his sister!"
Karen towed Michael to his sister's bedside. He gazed at the tiny infant losing the battle to live. And he began to sing. In the pure hearted voice of a 3 year old, Michael sang: "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray..."
Instantly the baby girl responded. The pulse rate became calm and steady for the first time since her birth.
"Keep on singing, Michael," his mother told him.
"You never know, dear, how much I love you, Please don't take my sunshine away..."
The ragged, strained breathing became as smooth as a kitten's purr.
"Keep on singing, Michael," Karen encouraged.
"The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms..."
Michael's little sister relaxed, as rest -- healing rest -- seemed to sweep over her.
"Keep on singing, Michael."
Tears conquered the face of the bossy head nurse. Karen glowed.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. Please don't, take my sunshine away."
Funeral plans are scrapped. The next day -- the very next day -- the little girl is well enough to go home! Woman's Day magazine called it "The Miracle of a Brother's Song." The medical staff just called it a miracle. Karen called it a miracle of God's love!
Perhaps this is one way of saying, "never give up on the people you love."

Y empezó a cantar.

What is the life?
Life is an opportunity, take advantage of it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, make it reality.
Life is a challenge, confront it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a beautiful gift, take care of it.
Life is a wealth, conserve it.
Life is a synonym of love, enjoy it.
Life is a mystery, decipher it.
Life is also sadness, overcome it.
Life is a hymn, sing it.
Life is a combat, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, dominate it.
Life is adventure, live it.
Life is happiness, look for it.
Life is a great value, defend it.
(Mother Teresa of Calcuta).
